Running Is The Asskicker of Me

Most of the time, my time spent running is a harmony of pain and relief. Hard work yes, but exhilarating and refreshing enough to be worthy of a video montage with Vangelis in the background. Then there are days like today, where from step one, you simply feel like crap and it just keeps piling higher as the seconds tick by. Seriously, today just sucked. Even though I was out in the brilliant Montana sun with the Rockies in the distance, all I could think about is how much I’d rather be at home drinking a beer. In a stroke of luck, I was scheduled to take the day off today, so this was just a quick “easy run” to loosen up the legs. At the end, I manged a 5K in 28:34. After wards, my grandmother called and asked if she could run with me next week.

On a good note, my heart rate monitor keeps falling off lately, and I’m taking that as a sign the dieting is working. I’m currently down 3 pounds over the month to 155. Of course, this can all change if I keep finding really good beer around.
