Thank You Sir, May I Have Another?
First of all, this is my first post using my iPad external keyboard. And it’s awesome. The only thing is, you have to attach it. So, if you’re in the market for an iPad and plan to do any real work or blogging on it, get the external keyboard that is wireless. That way you don’t have to take it out of your case.
Okay, back to training. Fascinating day today. First of all, today started out like crap. Was one of those days when everything goes wrong from the get go. For example, first thing I did this AM was step into a giant puddle from a small leak in my garden hose. In just my socks. Not a good way to start a day.
Anyway, after a day of that kind of crap, I made it straight home instead of getting my ride in. Got some family members under the weather, so it was Mr. Mom to the rescue.
After getting things cleaned up, I started baking some dough for pretzels. I didn’t really feel like doing a workout in particular, but I needed to blow some steam bad and wait for the dough to rise. So I put on the shoes, and headed out.
I guess I need to have more frustrating days as I ran a pretty fast, for me that is. 4X 0.5 miles at 7:00 pace. Total of 5 miles in 41:32. Felt great at that time, and I was suprised to see my IF above 1.0 on WKO. It was a good ending to a bad day and a good start to a great night. My dough rose perfectly, and my wife and I enjoyed some nice Montana beer, brats, and pretzels. She even made some fresh ice cream.
Unfortunately, after that meal, Im going to have to do that workout 20 times to burn off the calories.
While I felt great during the run, now I can really feel it in my ITB and back. As my speed has increased, so to has my post workout soreness. Im researching various recovery techniques, and I’ll be posting some interesting information later.
Okay, Im done playing with this keyboard. Time for some sleep.
