There Must Have Been Sharks…..
First up, the results from this weekend’s race finally arrived in my mail box today. Lets break it down shall we?
Swim: 15:10, 4/28 AG
I’m not sure what I was looking at when I got out pf the water, but whatever it was, I was off about a minute. I thought I had come out in something like 16:10, but it was apparently 15:10. Which, are you ready for this, is 4/28!! I’m not sure how this is possible, and I’m still not certain its not some timing error or practical joke.
Bike + T1 + T2: 41:45, 9/28 AG:
Well, I know my bike went well, so I think I lost a lot of time in transitions. I really wasn’t pushing transition like usual, especially with my foot. Every second counts….
Run: 22:54, 8/28 AG
Still plenty of room to work here. Looks like this plus transitions were the real deciding factor for me. More speed work ahead! If I can meet my goal and shave off 3 minutes from my 5k time, things will be a lot better next year. a 1:16 would have given me third this race rather than eighth.
Speaking of training, things are going well this week. Last night, I was on the dreadmill for some intervals. Put out 1 mile at 8:00 and 3X 0.5 miles at 3:50, 3:30, 3:30. With two interval days in a row, I was surely feeling it this morning. As such, I moved today’s bike intervals to tomorrow morning and moved the off day to today. Weight is looking good at 146.
A day is off is still a day for training. Now, for some power sleep.
