It’s Beginning To Look A Lot like Hell Frozen Over

Tough times out here in Montana this week. I’ve been off the training for about four days with some weird virus that is either a terrible cold or Mono. I’m starting to feel better today fortunately, and I will finally get on the drainer to get my body back in motion. My arms and legs feel flabbier then a 6th Jell-O shot.

To top things off, I’m full into my travelling business lifestyle; this has taken some getting used to. Workouts have to be rearranged pretty frequently, but nothing that can’t be handled with some effort. The real kicker is that until I start flying myself, I’ve got 3-5 hour road trips, one way, each week through Montana’s terrain. This is not the most forgiving on the butt or nerves.

And winter has set on full now. Mother Nature was just kind of lolly gagging along through last week; it only was down into the 30’s. However, now things are getting serious. Today, we have an air temp of 5 degrees, expecting 1-3 inches of snow, wind gusts to 35mph and wind chill down to -10. This is what that sounds like:

It’s only supposed to get colder with air temps down to -20 this week. Needless to say, I am wus enough to not want to run in that wind. Everything has moved indoors permanently, which makes training more convenient but more boring. Luckily, I have plenty of iTunes to explore this winter.
Good luck to all my teammates racing Arizona today! I would give nearly anything to be in your place!
