Slow…And Steady

Well, I guess you cant always get what you want. For the second part of the testing week, did my 5k time trial. Previous best, not counting the 20:01 I clocked while getting interrupted by a page, was 21:42. Today’s test was on the indoor track at work. Eight laps to the mile. Started off with 15 minutes of slow work with 4X.125mi at test pace to get the legs up. Then I went at it. Splits came out roughly 7:02/mi for a total of 21:49. Vdot stable at 45.

I admit I wasn’t dying, but I surely wasn’t having fun. I did have to make some frequent course corrections due to people on the track, but I wont give my self excuses. I’m just happy to be stable right now after the break I took from bronchitis. 6 months to go until CDA and 1.5 months until the first race, the Snow Joke Half Marathon. Last year, I ran a miserable 1:55 ish. I wont stand for that his year. Nose to the grindstone.
