Normally today would be a post about some ball busting workout I did on the trainer. Unfortunately, the only thing rocking my body today is a virus. Yesterday, I started feeling a little funky around lunch time. I figure it was just another Monday. I hit the pool for 2000y. Had some good form for the day.

I had planned to top that off with a ride in the evening. After I got home though, things started going downhill pretty quickly. Pretty much felt like the flu: headache, body aches, fevers, chest and head congestion, mild cough. I managed to make it out to dinner with the family at Haskill Station in Whitefish. I had hoped the food would have perked me up. Quite the opposite unfortunately. After I got back home, I basically collapsed on the couch and slept there all night. Well, sort of slept.

Today I feel on the mend. Still rocking the body aches and congestion but it looks like my fever has resolved. Unfortunately, I am also enjoy the ramifications of those cheese fries I had last night….

So no work and no training for me today. Fortunately, as a doctor I always have plenty to read, so I’ve been spending the day catching up on journals, fixing my computer, and studying for school. I also had a chance to get set up with the Trainer Road program. If you haven’t heard of it, it basically allows you to see your power data in the real time on a PC. So instead of just my handlebar computer, I can read my information in more detail on the big screen. In addition, you can also drop in videos, such as the now infamous Sufferfest videos, while riding. My buds and I are all reviewing it and we will have some info up this week. In the meantime, you can feel free to check them out at Here is a cool explanation video:

On totally unrelated news, we are prepping for some exciting weather out here in Montana and Washington. And wouldn’t you know it, I have to fly into Seattle tomorrow afternoon.

Ok, I need to go get a shower before the CDC comes in here looking for a Biohazard.
