Half Huckleberry 100

A beautiful day and road in Montana.

A beautiful day and road in Montana.

Just a quick update on training. Post epic weekend, things have been going pretty well. First couple of days of running after the racing was a little painful for certain, but I was still able to get all my workouts in on pace. The worse part about running this week is that I have been searching high and low for my Garmin 910xt for seven days. Without any good way to keep my pace, I have been putting all my workouts in on the track at the gym. 8 laps for 1 mile. This includes my 16 mile run yesterday.

Thats right. 128 laps. Indoors. KILL ME. At least I can say my pace was right on at 8:03.

For recovery, today I did a 50 mile ride courtesy of the Huckleberry 100. If you remember, I did this last year and had a miserable experience. I pretty much rode the entire way by myself. So today, I promised myself only fresh air and company. I joined up with a buddy from last week, and we took our time meandering through the Flathead Valley on likely the last warm day of the season. I don’t even know how long it took us. It was just great to get out. The event was pretty well organized again and the food was to die for. And yep, there was even free Huckleberry ice cream.

And to top things off, guess what I found in the back of said buddy’s truck?

TADA! I found it. I only wish I found it about 24 hours earlier.

I guess I can stop sleeping on the couch now. Especially now that I brewed some Grapefruit Honey Ale for the wife. MMMM.
