Calm Before the Wind Storm
Less than 24 hours to go! Body wise, everything is looking good. I’m feeling great and no last minute injuries to speak of.
Mother Nature wise, things aren’t looking so peachy. Today, I dropped my bike off at T1 without a hiccup. We didn’t even have to do the infamous death march up the gravel road with our bikes.
Racked and ready to roll.
However, that turn of fortune couldn’t mask the horror of the incredible wind at T1. Weatherunderground.com had it clocking along at 23 knots. If the wind tomorrow is anything like today, it is going to be a sufferfest tomorrow on the bike. Good thing I have plenty of experience with that.
I also got a chance to put my foot in the swim venue even though there was no pre-race swimming allowed. It wasn’t nearly cold as I feared. Despite the wind, the water was calm.
So I am all packed up and ready to roll tomorrow. I don’t think it is going to be as fast a day as I hoped with the weather forecast, but I won’t complain too much. It could be raining in addition after all.
Time for sleep and then it’s time for pain!
